China has established a new state-owned data group directly administered by the central government as Beijing seeks to strengthen its data infrastructure and foster technological development to support its artificial intelligence ambitions.
China National Data Group Co., a state-owned enterprise dedicated to the development and utilization of data resources, was inaugurated on Tuesday by Chinese Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang in the Xiongan new area in Hebei province, the official Xinhua News Agency reported.
